FHN Journalism Students Are Recognized for Work
Posted on 10/12/2018
The journalism students at FHN are talented. They are driven. They are also some of the most decorated high school journalists in Missouri. At the end of each school year, the staff members of fhntoday.com and the North Star newspaper send their publications off to be critiqued by national organizations. This past year, the students again received a variety of awards and recognitions, including the George H. Gallup Award from Quill and Scroll, the International Honor Society for High School Journalists. In addition, they also earned All-American status from the National Scholastic Press Association, and were recently named a Gold Crown Award winner by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association.  Read more about FHN Journalism Students Are Recognized for Work

The program currently feeds more than 60 students, and partners with Harvester Church of the Nazarene to feed these students over the weekend when they can’t get school lunches. FHN Football Coach Brett Bevill, an alum of Henderson and FHN, heard about the organization and saw an opportunity for the team to help their community.   Read more about The Inaugural Knights Give Bear Necessities 5K

Highlighting student accomplishments is an exciting way to recognize students for their triumphs. Athletic and academic achievements come with easy ways to track goals and share statistics. But some programs can be a little tricky and don’t present as many options to show off the growth and progress that students make. With fine arts, it can be difficult to show how much a student has progressed over the course of a semester and demonstrate how students have honed their skills.  Read more about FHN Students Highlighted in Mentor Me Exhibit
